Composite Ear Graft for Nasal Ala Defects

Abstract
During last three years, we had a total eleven cases of nasal ala defect. Clinical analysis of these cases were as follows.
1) The cause of nasal ala defect revealed the 6 cases of human bite, two automobile accident cases, usual trauma two cases and chemical burn one case.
2) Age incidence showed the 8 cases in second decade and one in third decade. Comparing to western literature, age incidence in this series showed high in young age group. But older in werrtern this why that there is many skin cancer in caucasian.
3) Sex incidence was equal.
4) Donor site was selected the ear lobe or helix with coucha in almost all cases, because the countour, shape and color match was excellent for nasal ala defect. This size of graft was design near one centimeter in diameter but not more than 1. 5 centimeter.
5) Surgically great care was essential to do graft. Such as gentle handle of tissues, not to loose not to tights suture, and exact apposition of the skin edge of graft and bed etc.
6) There were no single case of graft failure in eleven cases. The shape and color match after successful graft was excellent.
